Dave Bloom
VP, New Markets & Strategic Ventures

Dave serves as Vice President, New Markets and Strategic Ventures for Chi-X Global Technology, a provider of trading technology platforms and a range of data management solutions for the financial markets. Chi-X Global Technology (“Chi-Tech”) was created through the acquisition of Cicada, a leading supplier of market data management and dissemination technologies, by Chi-X Global in November 2008.

Dave had joined Cicada in 2007, where he was focused on the development and launch of the company’s MarketPrizm solution. Prior to joining Cicada, Mr. Bloom spent the previous four years as a partner of Occam & Kiss LLC, an IT consulting firm based in New York providing project management, system design and technical assessment services to the financial, medical cost containment and e-commerce sectors.

For the 15 years prior to O&K, Mr. Bloom served the financial services industry managing strategic projects. As VP of Engineering for Concentra, Mr. Bloom designed and managed the implementation of an operating platform that unified 12 regional operating subsidiaries into a nationwide provider of Evaluative Services. As Director of Computing Engineering for UBS, his group pioneered many of the designs and practices that ushered in wide scale adoption of distributed computing services on the desktop and in the data center. As VP of Global Messaging for Salomon Brothers, Mr. Bloom and his team developed Wall Street’s first fully distributed peer-to-peer publish/subscribe system, revolutionizing the process for authoring and distributing research in real-time.

Mr. Bloom holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art and a Masters in Computer Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
